Ceylan
ORHUN: Ceylan
has been a volunteer and an activist in both national and
international arena for women's human rights movement.
Since 1991, she co-founded
KA-DER, WINPEACE, and ANAKULTUR; acted as founding president
of ANAKULTUR (1997 - 2002); and advised
to the president of Southeastern Anatolia Development
Project Administration on women and development issues
(1998 - 2003).
She has also been a member of the Board of Governors of
the World Water Council between 2000 and 2003.
During her activist years from 1991 to 2003,
Ceylan has attended many international conferences, symposiums
either
as a delegate or presenter. Her essays are published in various
newspapers, journals and edited publications worldwide. In
addition, she has produced radio programs about NGO's and
the culture of Southeastern Anatolia on Acik Radio (1995 – 1999).
Ceylan was born in Istanbul in 1956. She went to Ealing
Technical College-London, Cordon Bleu School of Cookery-London,
and SUNY Purchase, NY. She now lives in between Buenos Aires-Argentina
and Bodrum-Turkey.
